Despite the current economic turbulence, the mobile phone business is expanding. In fact, the worldwide wireless market continued double-digit growth in the second quarter of this year according to tech research firm, IDC.
Phone shipments grew 15.3 percent from the same quarter in 2007, according to IDC's global mobile phone tracker. A total of 306 million units were shipped in the second quarter of this year, compared to 265.4 million shipped at this time last year.
According to Insight Research, U-S firms will spend $133 billion dollars on communication services this year. Nearly forty percent of this budget will be spent on mobile communications as business owners demand flexibility.
